| After more than a decade at the Ontario AIDS Network, Tara Jewal begins a new chapter. We couldn’t let this moment pass without celebrating everything she has built and everyone she has touched along the way. Tara has been the heart of PLDI since its earliest years, guiding the program on behalf of the Ontario AIDS Network as it grew into a life-changing training ground for the community. Since 2006, PLDI has trained over 1,200 HIV-positive people in Ontario, building a collaborative model of leadership that has shaped a generation of advocates, mentors, and changemakers. That legacy belongs to Tara as much as anyone. |
| Over more than a decade of professional work, she has brought her expertise to the federal government, the Toronto People with AIDS Foundation, and The Teresa Group, in addition to her years leading PLDI. She has also served on the Ontario Advisory Committee on HIV/AIDS (OACHA), lending her voice and perspective to shape policy and community response at a provincial level. Through it all, Tara has offered a rare and valuable perspective — and has spent her career inspiring those around her to live life to the fullest. As Tara moves on from the Network, we thank her for everything she has given to this community: her mentorship, leadership, energy and her unwavering belief in the people she served. PLDI and the hundreds of leaders it has developed are part of her legacy, and that legacy will carry forward. Congratulations, Tara.
