The Ontario AIDS Network is acutely aware of the risks of losing sight of HIV as a priority in Ontario given the potential for changing government priorities. As a result, we have worked with a committee of board members as well as a communications consultant to assemble some key messages for our partner agencies – that HIV is still an issue in Ontario, one that we can overcome with continued provincial support.
We have sent each campaigning party leader a letter asking them what their commitment will be to the continuation of Ontario’s provincial strategy Focusing Our Efforts – HIV/AIDS Strategy to 2026 along with a questionnaire, providing history and meaningful statistics showing the importance and value of maintaining our pathways and pushing ahead toward the finish line. We have also submitted a news release – on behalf of all of our members – through Canada Newswire.
We look forward to sharing any responses we receive.
