OAN Board of Directors – 2025 Update!

Meet Our New Board Members

Bokani Moetedi (she/her)

Bokani brings a wealth of lived and professional experience shaped by her journey from Botswana to Canada. Growing up in one of the countries hardest hit by HIV/AIDS, she witnessed firsthand the impact of treatment access and public health interventions.
In 2002, she joined the African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnership (ACHAP) as a Hospital Administrator, playing a key role in patient education on HIV prevention, treatment, healthy living, and stigma reduction.

After moving to Canada in 2011, she built a career in Health and Safety while continuing to volunteer with HIV organizations, including Women’s Health in Women’s Hands, CAYR (formerly the AIDS Committee of York Region), and The Teresa Group. She currently serves on the Board of Directors at CAYR and contributed as a writer and editor to CATIE’s Positive Side magazine in 2024.
Her lifelong advocacy and dedication to the PHA community are at the heart of her leadership.

Myles Sexton (they/them)

Myles is a Creative Director, Stylist, Makeup Artist, and outspoken HIV/AIDS and sobriety activist. As a nonbinary and queer fashion figure, they bring a dynamic blend of creativity, advocacy, and visibility to their work.

A regular face on Canadian television and the host of the acclaimed podcast Our Private Bits, Myles was honoured with the Digital Fashion Creator Award from CAFA in 2022. Their editorial work has appeared in Vogue Italia, Elle, The New York Times, and Fashion Magazine, and they have styled for icons including Grace Jones, Winnie Harlow, Nelly Furtado, Lights, and Emily Haines.

His late grandfather and godfather co-founded Quality Chemical Industries Limited, the first ARV manufacturing facility in Sub-Saharan Africa—an achievement that continues to inspire his vision for equity in HIV care.

His social service career spans both Canada and international contexts, including harm reduction work in South Africa and community outreach with The Teresa Group and Black CAP. He has provided direct support to youth, families, and communities affected by HIV and AIDS and contributes to coalitions focused on health equity and stigma reduction.

Francis holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Psychology & Sociology) and certifications in Harm Reduction, Civic Digital Engagement, CPI, TREAT, and OCHART. He brings both human-centred practice and a strong data-informed approach to his work.
