Description
This is a virtual three-part workshop is designed for peer research assistants, front-line community HIV workers, and leaders. We’ll cover communication basics, media tools, and simple design elements to help you share information, connect with your communities, and enhance message engagement.
Prerequisites: No prerequisites are required for this course; however, some exposure to online tools would be an asset.
Graduation Incentive: Receive a monetary token of congratulations upon completion.
Goals and Learning Outcomes:
1. Enhance Media Literacy and Critical Analysis Skills
Develop the ability to critically analyze media messages and understand the underlying intentions. Learn to discern effective communication strategies within various media formats, particularly in the context of HIV prevention, management, and care.
2. Develop Clear and Effective Communication Strategies
Craft clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate messages. Simplify complex information into understandable content and use storytelling to enhance emotional and personal connections.
3. Master Basic Media Creation Tools
Gain proficiency in using media creation tools like Canva to produce visual aids and communication materials. Learn the fundamentals of graphic design, including layout, color theory, and typography
Audience and Format
This is a virtual workshop, for peer research assistants, front-line community HIV workers, and leaders. Limited to 18 participants to ensure a personalized learning experience.
