The purpose of the course is to support frontline service providers to talk to their clients about hepatitis C transmission, testing, treatment, and prevention.
This course includes approximately five – six hours of online instruction delivered over four weeks. It includes weekly self-directed modules and collaborative discussion boards facilitated by a CATIE educator, and an interactive online meeting with our educators and fellow learners. CATIE’s Hepatitis C Basics course aims to build foundational knowledge of hepatitis C, covering topics such as hepatitis C transmission, testing, treatment, and prevention. Participants will also learn about the social and structural factors that lead to certain populations being disproportionately affected by hepatitis C. This course will assist front-line service providers to accurately discuss hepatitis C with their clients and provide support around hepatitis C prevention, testing, treatment and care.

Audience
Are you a service provider who works with people who are living with hepatitis C? Then this course is for you!
Weekly topic breakdown
Hepatitis C Basics includes four online modules that include a variety of learning activities such as e-learning units, readings, discussion board assignments, videos and webinars. You can work through each weekly online module at your own pace. Each module takes up to one hour to complete.
An online meeting is held in the fifth week to conclude the course.
Week 1: Introduction to hepatitis C
Week 2: Hepatitis C transmission and prevention
Week 3: Hepatitis C testing
Week 4: Hepatitis C treatment
Week 5: Online Meeting: Hepatitis C Basics – Implications for front-line workers
Timing
The online modules are available from June 10th to July 10th allowing 4 weeks for online learning to be completed before our July 10th meeting.
