SUMMARY:CATIE’s HIV and Hepatitis C Testing course for Ontario-based service providers
DESCRIPTION:CATIE is now offering a free HIV and Hepatitis C Testing course for Ontario-based service providers! \n \nAre you a service provider in the province of Ontario who works with people who might benefit from hepatitis C testing and/or HIV testing? All service providers who have a role to play in supporting people to be connected to testing, treatment, and linkages to care, would benefit from this course. Please feel free to forward this email to interested colleagues!\n \nREGISTER HERE ( https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/7718384/TST-ONT-0424 )\nApril 29th – May 22nd\n \nCATIE’s HIV and Hepatitis C Testing course aims to develop in-depth knowledge of testing technologies, approaches to testing, and how all service providers play an important role in reaching people living with hepatitis C or HIV. This course will not teach participants how to test; rather, by exploring different approaches to testing and the barriers that exist, service providers come away with strategies to facilitate testing and linkage to care, treatment, and prevention in their communities and with their clients.  \n \nThis course includes approximately five – six hours of online instruction delivered over five weeks. It includes weekly self-directed modules and collaborative discussion boards facilitated by a CATIE Health Educator, and an interactive online meeting with an Educator and fellow students. This online meeting has been adapted to include key messages from Ontario’s updated HIV testing guidelines.\n \nWeekly topic breakdown \nHIV and Hepatitis C Testing includes four online modules with a variety of learning activities such as eLearning units, readings, discussion board assignments, videos and webinars. You can work through each weekly module at your own pace.\n \nCourse Start Date: April 29th\nWEEK 1: Introduction to Testing\nWEEK 2: HIV Testing and Diagnosis\nWEEK 3: Hepatitis C Testing and Diagnosis\nWEEK 4: Key components of the HIV and hepatitis C testing process\nWEEK 5: Interactive online meeting – HIV and Hepatitis C Testing: Implications for frontline service providers\nYou may register for this course here ( https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/7718384/TST-ONT-0424 ).\n \nFor more information about this course or CATIE’s education offerings, please contact Shriya Hari, Health Educator, at shari@catie.ca ( mailto:shari@catie.ca )\n
